Kick Butts Day
|
| Every year students from all fifty states help the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, a national organization, call attention to the problem of children smoking. Through the years we've celebrated in many "Kick Butts Day Events". One year we invited store owners, as well as town and county legislators to participate with us. | |
| We spoke to them about what needs to be done in our town to protect kids from the tobacco industry. | |
| On April 14, 1999 we celebrated our third Kick Butts Day event. We dumped hundreds of packs of cigarettes into an incinerator at he the Dempster Fire Station in Mercer County NJ. The packs of cigarettes were those that had been sold illegally to kids throughout our state. Some had been sold to | |
| members of C.O.S.T. when they did compliance checks with the Camden County Health Department! | |
| The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids has a lot of material available
if you would like to help us take a stand against the tobacco industry.
