| The R.J. Reynolds Company is telling people
that Winston cigarettes have no additives. They want people to think that
they're safe. We know this isn't true. No cigarettes are safe! They have
over 4,000 chemicals! |

Tobacco companies spend about 16 million dollars every day on advertising
that they use to trick kids into smoking. Because we don't have the money
it takes to run ads, we have to think of other ways to get our message out.
|
One way we do this is to make signs and go out and tell people. On November
19, 1997 we demonstrated before a billboard with the American Cancer Society
and students from the Gateway High School in observance of the "Great
American Smokeout".

Another way we let people know the tobacco
company is after kids is to give speeches and put our kites on display.
|
| Now that people know about C.O.S.T. they
ask us to participate in lots of events. The American Heart Association
let us set up a booth at their annual "Heart Walk". |
